From the Marines to Marriage Memories: My Journey to Wedding Filmmaking
If you told me a few years ago that I’d be filming weddings for a living, I probably would’ve laughed. Not because I didn’t believe in love or storytelling—but because I was deep in a world where structure, service, and discipline ruled everything. I was content with the idea of a steady income job that would allow me to live a financially comfortable life with my family.
The Marine Corps shaped a lot of who I am today. It taught me how to show up no matter what, how to stay calm when things go sideways, and how to pay attention to the smallest details—because sometimes, they matter the most.
And while I was proud of the work I did, I also knew that there was something else out there calling me—something creative, something more personal.
A Different Kind of Mission
The first wedding I filmed, I was hooked. There’s something incredibly powerful about capturing two people on one of the most important days of their lives. The joy, the nerves, the love—it’s raw and real. And as someone who once worked in high-pressure environments, I found a strange comfort in the chaos of a wedding day.
Except this time, instead of carrying out missions as a Logistics Officer, I was documenting core memories.
Why Weddings?
To me, weddings are more than just pretty venues and fancy suits. They’re about legacy. They're about connection. And they’re about capturing a feeling that couples can return to for the rest of their lives.
My military background gave me the discipline to plan thoroughly, show up early, and deliver consistently. But what filmmaking gave me is a way to lead with my heart—to create something beautiful that truly means something.
Serving in a New Way
Now, I get to serve in a different way. I serve couples by preserving moments that matter. I capture the look in their eyes during their vows, the laughter between best friends, the quiet tears no one else sees. I bring structure, calm, and intention to every wedding—but I also bring a deep appreciation for the fleeting, emotional, human moments that make each story unique.
If you're a couple looking for a wedding film that feels as real as your love story—and as intentional as the life you're building—I'm here for it.
I am so blessed to have this opportunity to be a veteran wedding videographer based in Savannah, Georgia.
Thanks for being part of the journey.
